Donor-Advised Funds (DAF)
A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is a simple and flexible way to support the causes you care about. When you contribute cash, stock, or other assets to a DAF sponsored by organizations such as Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or another public charity, you may receive an immediate tax deduction. You can then recommend grants to qualified nonprofits whenever you’re ready.
If you already have a DAF, we invite you to recommend a grant to POE – South Bay (EIN: 47-4727641). Your support helps strengthen our work and makes a meaningful difference in the community.
If you do not have a DAF, you can give through the PayPal Giving Fund, a donor-advised fund that forwards your donation to us without charging PayPal fees. To use this option, you will need to create or use a PayPal account.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD)
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows people age 70½ or older to give up to $111,000 per year directly from a traditional IRA to an eligible charity. The transferred amount counts toward your Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs), but it is excluded from your taxable income.
Please consider channeling part of your annual RMD to POE – South Bay.
